Letter from Heaven

A sweet letter that we also posted last year...

To my dearest family,
Some things I would like to say,
But first of all, to let you know
That I arrived ok.
I’m writing this from Heaven
Where I dwell with God above,
here there’s no more tears or sadness
There is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy
Just because I’m out of sight.
Remember that I’m with you
Every morning, noon, and night.
That day that I had to leave you
When my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me
And He said, I welcome you.
It’s good to have you back again
You were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest; family
They’ll be here later on.
I need you here so badly
As part of my big plan.
There’s so much that we have to do
To help our mortal man.
Then God gave me a list of things
He wished for me to do.
And foremost on that list of mine
Is to watch and care for you.
And I will be beside you
Every day and week and year.
And when you’re sad,
I’m standing there to wipe away the tears.
And when you lie in bed at night
The days chore put to flight
God and I are closest to you
In the middle of the night.
” When you think of my life on earth
And all those loving years,
Because you’re only human
They’re bound to bring you tears
But do not be afraid to cry
It does relieve the pain.
Remember, there would be no flowers
Unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you
Of all that God has planned,
But if I were to tell you,
You would not understand.
And to my many friends trust,
God knows what it best.
I’m still not very far away from you
I’m just beyond the crest.
And now I am contented that my life,
It was worthwhile.
Knowing as I passed along the way
I made someone smile.
When you’re walking down the street
And you’ve got me on your mind,
I’m walking in your footsteps
Only half a step behind.
And when you feel that gentle breeze
Or the wind upon your face,
That’s me giving you a great big hug
Or just a soft embrace.
And when it’s time for you to go
From that body to be free,
Remember, you’re not going,
You are coming here to me.
And I will always love you
from that land way up above.
I’ll be in touch again soon,
P.S. GOD SENDS HIS LOVE!

Liz & Bo

Liz and her grandson Bo launch in Austin, TX.

Also, a sweet message from Vicki's friend Peggy on launch day:
Another year of remembrance...sent my balloon up from Dunwoody today.  It is so good to see the pictures & read the nice comments on the blog.  I know Tara had a very special birthday today.  While I think of her often & of her beautiful family who misses her so, it feels good to really devote a little time to remembering her today & the very sweet & dear soul she is.

Amanda & Lacy

These are from the launch Amanda and Lacy did at Amanda's house in Franklin, TN.

Pam & family in Colorado

See below for a message from Pam, and some beautiful photos!

Mike, Cali, Cooper and I launched our annual purple balloons in honor of Tara's birthday yesterday. We let  our balloons go up on the driving range above our house in Beaver Creek. As you can see by the second photo, we had company. A HUGE brown bear walked through the woods behind us and the dogs went nuts. Sorry the picture is taken from so far away, but it took me a few minutes to calm down after the dogs took off after him barking like crazy! Mike and I just wanted you and Allan to know that we think it is wonderful to honor your precious Tara in this way. We both thought about you all and Tara yesterday. Memories are wonderful gifts from God and I know you have hundreds stored away in your minds and no one can ever take that away from you! I can see Tara now dancing her way across Heaven!

From the Tanner Family

This Wednesday June 19th would have been Tara’s 31st Birthday.  Once again we are having our annual Balloon Launch celebrating her life.

We thank you all for being a part of our balloon launches throughout the past 9 years. If you would like to participate again, all you need to do is get a purple helium balloon, print and cut out one of the notes attached to this email and tie it to the end of the balloon string.  You may want to laminate or put the note in a small plastic baggie and then release it in honor of her day wherever you are.

You might want to put a message on the back of the note indicating where you released the balloon and perhaps your name or initial.  It is always interesting to see who sent the balloon and from where when one of our balloons are found.

On Tara's blog we have collected photos of past balloon launches.  We are hoping that you will continue to send us your balloon launch pictures so that we can post them onto her website.  Thanks again to Megan H. who has done such a great job of designing and maintaining the blog.

Thank you  again for helping us celebrate and remember Tara on her birthday.  Your support these past 9 years has meant so much.

With much gratitude,

The Tanner Family
