The first response
Thanks to everyone for launching their balloons yesterday. We received an email this afternoon from a lady in Yorba Linda, CA:
Hi,
As I was pulling out of my driveway to work this morning, there was a balloon on the sidewalk in front of my planter area. I got out of the car and picked up the note attached to it.
What a great message for me personally to get today. My father passed away 20 years ago and today would have been his 75th birthday.
The back side of your note said Eagle Rock, CA and the initials BW.....
I live in Yorba Linda, CA which is next to Anaheim Hills and just before the Corona area off the 91 Fwy. A long way for the balloon to travel.

2008 Balloon Launch Details
On Thursday June 19th we are organizing what has become our annual remembrance of Tara's birthday. If you would like to participate, all you need to do is get a purple helium balloon, print and cut out the note that is attached to this email and tie it to the end of the balloon string. You may want to laminate or put the note in a small plastic baggie and then release it in honor of her day wherever you are.
You may also want to put a message on the back of the note indicating where you released the balloon and perhaps your name or initial. It is always interesting to see who sent the balloon and from where. We have had friends who have released their balloons all over the United States as well as Europe, Australia, Japan, the Caribbean etc.
One of Tara's friends, Megan H. has organized a blog for her. We are hoping that you will send us your balloon launch pictures so that we can download them onto her website. As an added favor, many of you have sent some pictures from prior years but due to a computer 'mishap' many of the pictures have been lost. If you have pictures you can forward from past years we would be very excited to receive them. We also love to hear the stories of your balloon launches and you can post them or leave messages on the blog if you would like. The address for the blog is http://angeltara.blogspot.com
Please know that we are still touched by all the kindness, care and support you continue to show our family. One of the most wonderful things you have done for us these past 4 years is to always remember our Tara and what a very special person she was.
